A centre in Khopoli fell short of 300 question papers for the first SSC paper-Marathi after the packet in which papers were sealed and sent to the location was exchanged with a centre in Karjat.

At around 10.30 on Tuesday, board officials got a call from Janta Vidyalay Khopoli stating that the number of question papers sent to the centre was way lesser than the total number of students accomoddated with them. It later came to light that the shortage was owing to the fact that their actual number of papers went to a centre in Karjat while theirs came here.

The confusion led to delay in starting the paper by about an hour as the paper started at 11.50 am instead of the stipulated time i.e 11 am. "We got a call from the centre stating that they were short of some papers. After checking we realised that papers in two centres had exchanged by mistake. We immediately called the other centre in Karjat and asked them to send the papers to the centre in Khopoli which took some time. Students were however given extra time as the paper started late" said SY Chandekar, Secretary, Mumbai Divisional Board.
