A month and a half after the pact suicide of a 45-year-old woman, her paramour and two children in Lokhandwala complex, the Oshiwara police's hunt for the claimant of the woman and children's bodies has come to an end.

While the body of Manoj Patel, the deceased paramour, was claimed by his US-based brother last month, the police were running from pillar to post to trace the woman's relatives for more than a month. On Sunday, however, the search came to an end when the deceased Shikha Pal's sister Rakhi, 40, turned up at the police station.

Subhash Vele, senior PI of Oshiwara police, said, "Rakhi had turned up at Shikha's home on Sunday to wish her for Easter. When she found the house locked and inquired with the neighbours, she came to know about the incident. A shocked Rakhi then called up her brother, Amar, 39. The duo then turned up at the police station."

Rakhi worked as a domestic help in Belapur and Amar is a painter in Antop Hill. "We took their statements and they had no idea about the goings-on. They hardly visited the family in the past one year. They were not following the media reports either. Following the post mortem, the bodies have been kept in a hospital in Borivli. They will be handed over to them by Wednesday," added Vele. He also said that although they knew that Shikha had a sister, they were unable to locate her.

On February 20, bodies of siblings Bharti Pal, 25 and Somnath, 20 were found hanging at their employer's residence where they were working as domestic help and their mother Shikha, 45 and her paramour Patel's body was found hanging at former's residence in the same area.

The police recovered suicide notes in videos on all their phones which revealed that Bharti was being sexually assaulted by their employer and Somanth was harassed by him. Patel, in the video, stated that he was taking the extreme step since he was suffering from health problems. Tinku Singh, the sibling's employer, was arrested on charges of abetment to suicide and molestation. The police believe that the four rehearsed the videos several times before committing the act.
