Kidnapped 5-yr-old's body found in creek

In shocking case, a body of a five-year-old boy was found at a creek in Wadala on Friday morning. The Wadala Truck Terminus(TT) police have registered a case of murder and the police are probing a kidnapping angle behind the murder. The deceased has been identified as Tausif Naushad Shaikh.

According to the police, the boy went missing on Thursday and on early Friday morning a case of kidnapping was registered at the Wadala TT police station. While the police had just began the investigation in the matter, fishermen near Shanti Nagar spotted a child's body floating in the creek. After fishing out the body, Shaikh was then rushed to Sion hospital where he was declared dead on arrival. The postmortem report stated that there were external injuries on the body and drowning as the cause of death.

"We have registered a case of murder and probing the matter from all angles. A case of kidnapping was registered,"said a senior police officer.
