I stepped out two minutes before collapse: Lalchand Ramchandani

Like any other day, Lalchand Ramchandani, fourth floor resident of Sai Siddhi housing cooperative society, stepped out of the house to visit his shop in the nearby area. While he was on his way, he heard people shouting, 'building gir rahi hai'.

Speaking about the incident he witnessed, Ramchandani said, "When people started shouting, I turned back and noticed that it was my building which collapsed. I was in a state of shock after seeing the building collapse. My wife was inside. Luckily, she was rescued by the fire fighters within one hour."

Speaking about the building collapse, he said, "There was a maternity hospital earlier and now a hotel was being constructed. We got to know that they were carrying out illegal alteration. It is obvious that if they alter the pillars, the building will be in danger."
