Minister for social justice Rajkumar Badole on Friday said that he would resign if allegation of him not being serious about the hunger death in his district was proved. He said that the death of the woman was due to hunger but because she was not keeping well for many days.

Badole visited Lalita Rangari's house at Tiroda in Gondiya district and talked to her family members and neighbours. However, NCP spokesperson Nawab Malik had criticised that Badole was not serious about her death.

Addressing the press on Friday, Badole said that he has not only visited Rangari's family but also has talked to her neighbours. He said that the woman was not eating food since she was not well. Her family has received the benefits from Sanjay Gandhi Niraadhaar Yojana and her two sons were getting food regularly.

He also said that Rangari's elder son is mentally challenged and the younger one is visually impaired. He informed that the state government has already decided to take care of the family by sending the elder son to the Nagpur-based institution for the mentally challenged and would look after the other son as well.

He announced that he would resign as a minister if the death of this woman was proved to be death due to hunger.
