For the first time ever, RSS Swayamsevaks would be marching wearing a full length trouser instead of half pants on at 16 places in Mumbai on today on Vijaya Dashami (Dussera), creating history. Almost 5 to 6 million Swayamsevaks would be marching all over the country today except for North-eastern states where heavy rainfall still persists.
Sources within RSS told DNA that there has been a consistent rise in enrollment and in last one or two year there has been a rise by almost 15 to 20 per cent. In Mumbai it has been a rise by almost 15 per cent and there would be 600 Swayamsevaks marching on Tuesday morning at 16 different places to celebrate Vijaya Dashami day which is foundation day for the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh or RSS.
A Nagpur based Swayamsevak and senior level office bearer told that RSS does not advertise on the basis of increasing numbers nor it tries to go for official registration by filling up any form. He said that Sangh has reached to more than 50 thousand places with a membership of roughly 5 to 6 million is because of its character which is of devoted Swayamsevaks for the selfless service towards motherland.
BJP state unit chief spokesperson and RSS Swayamsevak told DNA that the change of attire or Ganavesh from half pant to full trouser would definitely attract youngsters to join RSS in big numbers. He said that it is not for young generation of today but even in our young days, there were many who wanted to join RSS but used to shy away from wearing RSS half pant and did not join RSS.
Bhandari said that RSS while in 91'st year of existence is ever-growing and very reason for the growth is being consistent as well as flexible to change according to times. That is the reason Bhandari said, RSS has changed attire to full trouser and is maintaining the traditions.
