The Maharashtra legislative Council on Monday witnessed high drama with food and civil supplies minister Girish Bapat swearing to not just giving up politics but his life if any of the charges of corruption against him stand proven.

"All allegations made against me are false. I will not only leave politics but also give up my life if anyone proves that I am involved in corruption. I will not be in the post for a minute," said Bapat in response to the allegations made by Opposition in the council.

However, leader of Opposition in the legislative council Dhanajay Munde said that the Opposition wants an inquiry into the allegations under a serving judge and ACB and that they are not interested in having his life. "The government should face inquiry either through SIT, ACB or retired HC judge," demanded Munde.

Munde continued his attack on several state ministers including women and child development minister Pankaja Munde facing music for chikki and take home ration scams as well as education minister Vinod Tawde. "There is also the issue of tur dal scam and we believe that the consumers had to pay almost Rs2,500-2,800 crore extra because of the high prices," he alleged.

Munde said he is willing to serve the ministers as a servant if any one of the claims made by him does not stand true. The Opposition leaders also shouted slogans like 'Gali Gali mein shor hai, BJP Chor hai', leading to multiple adjournments of the House.

Also, in response to ministers calling the allegations baseless, Munde said for 15 yeas in Opposition BJP has come up with baseless allegations against the Congress-led government but Munde has proof to back every claim that he is making.

The Opposition had first made the allegation last Thursday on several ministers of chief minister Devendra Fadnavis's government. The Opposition said that despite reports of charges of corruption, the government has not taken any action against any minister except Eknath khadse . They have repeatedly been demanding inquiries against them by the ACB or retired or sitting high court judges.
