Hospital staff members of Kharghar-based GD Pol Foundation Hospital have complained that the hospital management is treating them badly for the past few months due to their repeated demands for salaries.

Staff employees claim that the management is not ready to pay them their salary according to sixth pay commission. "The management follow the Bombay High Court order to pay our salary but have so far failed to pay us. On July 25, our association sought to interact with the management about the issue but rather than listening they threatened us," said Vijay Kulkarni, General Secretary of Sarva Shramik Sanghatana union.

"On January 5, the SC had held the resolution of state government and extended the sixth pay commission to non-teaching staff as well. Following this we made demands for wages, benefits and service conditions as per sixth pay commission," added Kulkarni.

The management has refuted the allegations made by the staff members. Dr Gajanan Dattatray Pol, chairman of GD Pol Foundation which handles the hospital, said, "It is impossible that we don't give correct pay to our employees. I am shocked to hear this. There are unions which tend to create problems in the management. In fact, staff members are not behaving properly with the patients. We are having a tough time dealing with them."
