The Siddhivinayak temple in Prabhadevi has got a flower cover this Ganeshotsav.

Delhi resident Kanwal Sharma and his team have decorated the famous Ganesh temple with a variety of flowers, fruits and dry fruits exported from all over the world.

Besides local flowers, many varieties as well as fruits have been brought from Australia, New Zealand and South America among other countries.

"For the past 16 years, I have been decorating the Vaishno Devi temple during Navratri to seek blessings of Goddess Mahalakshmi. This year, for the first time, we wanted to decorate the Siddhivinayak temple keeping the festival mood in mind. Looking at the videos of the decoration we did at Vaishno Devi temple, the management of Siddhivinayak temple agreed to give us the opportunity," Sharma said.

As per the flowers' lifespan, the decorations will be changed every four days.

"Flowers usually stay fresh for 10 days, but to the climate here, four to five days is their lifespan in Mumbai; hence, we will change the decoration accordingly. Also, apple, grapes and other fruits and dry fruits have been used," said Hari Krishna, a member of Sharma's team.
