Allaying the possibility of mid-term polls in the state, BJP National President Amit Shah on Saturday said that the BJP would fight and win the elections if it is held but the Fadnavis government would complete its full term.

Instead, Shah said, "Fadnavis has said that if at all there are mid-term polls, BJP is ready for the same. Can you expect us to say that we would run away from the battlefield. We will have to fight and we will win the elections. But let me make it clear that the Fadnavis government will complete its five year term."

When reporters asked about his scheduled meeting with Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray on Sunday, he said that BJP was open to suggestions and names for the presidential polls. He pointed out that BJP had already started consultations with other parties.

Praising Fadnavis Government for handling the farmers' strike in a sensitive manner, Shah said that during the two and a half tenure of Fadnavis-led government, the agricultural growth rate has grown from -8 to 20. He expressed confidence that the government was capable of handling the burden due to loan waiver. When asked whether it was proper to play cricket matches with Pakistan on a neutral venue, Shah said, "If Pakistan is not coming to us and we are not going to Pakistan to play matches, can we decide against participating in international events like Champions' trophy? It is part of an international event."
