Thane police on Sunday arrested a 39-year-old man for firing one round from his licenced revolver at a restaurant in Yeoor Hills. The hotel management and staff were afraid to confront the accused directly and informed Vartak Nagar police station.

The accused — identified as Ravindra Nalawade — is a resident of D'souza Wadi in Wagle Estate of Thane. After consuming alcohol till late night, Nalawade removed his revolver and started pointing at other patrons.

"We were informed by a passersby about the incident and rushed to the spot only to find that the hotel staff was afraid to confront him. We searched the accused and found a revolver on him along with four live bullets," said a Vartak Nagar police officer.

"Our priority was to take away the revolver safely so that no one was harmed as he had already fired a round of bullet. He was so drunk that he was not even able to walk and we wanted to avoid any mishap," he added.
