Doctor rapes patient inside clinic, arrested

A 38-years-old doctor has been arrested by the Mumbra police for allegedly raping his 29-years-old patient inside his clinic. The accused threatened the woman to show the video clip to her husband and upload on the internet if she failed to suffice his sexual desires.

According to Mumbra police, the doctor identified as Prashant Thorat, a resident of Niljegaon in Dombivli, practiced at a clinic in Diva when he came across the victim as he allegedly raped her and filmed the entire incident.

"The woman complained to her husband that the doctor was threatening her to upload the video on internet if she denied to continue to suffice her sexual needs," said an officer.

"The husband, later, confronted the doctor only to be abused and thrown out of the clinic, after which they filed a formal complaint against the doctor," the officer added.

"We have arrested the accused and booked him under sections 376 (rape) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code," said M Bendre, an investigation officer.

"We are investigating further to collect the video clip which has been used to threaten the woman," Bendre added.
