Residents from Mumbai suburbs, Thane and Navi Mumbai residing in old and dilapidated buildings can now expect new homes with proper and upgraded civic amenities and infrastructure. This will not only lead to an increase in housing stock but also the much needed open spaces while minimising impact on infrastructure.

It will be a game changer as it will help redesign old areas using best construction practices with higher incentives. This is expected to strike a balance between fast growing urbanisation and sustainable development.
However, experts argue that it should not be met with red-tapism but it should be fast tracked by providing necessary government clearances.
