The Nerul police have registered a missing person's complaint and formed a team to locate a scientist who works at the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Mumbai. The woman went missing from her home in Navi Mumbai's Nerul on January 23.

Babita Singh, 30, a scientific officer at the Radiation Biology and Health Science division at BARC, went missing from Nerul's Sector 20. When Singh failed to return home, a relative, Deepak Kumar, lodged a missing person's complaint on January 24.

Singh had sent an email to her relatives before she went missing. In the email, Singh had reportedly mentioned problems she was facing at work. Singh did not carry her mobile phone and other belongings with her when she left her residence. A CCTV camera installed near her housing society caught Singh around 1 pm on January 23.

Police Inspector Sadanand Sonkamble said a search has already been launched.

Sonkamble refused to divulge details of the email sent by the woman to her relatives. "We are doing our best to trace her. We will not disclose details of the email as the investigation is underway," Sonkamble said.
