The police, in order to collect all evidence in the alleged rape case filed against DIG Sunil Paraskar, searched the office of the complainant's ex-lawyer, Rizwan Siddique, on Wednesday evening. The police searched Siddique's office located at four bungalows in Andheri for CCTV footage in which the woman allegedly spoke about defaming Paraskar with Siddique.

According to Siddique, around seven policemen along with two panch witnesses barged into his office at 7:20 pm on Wednesday, wanting to confiscate his hard disk. "I was away in Belapur and received a message that crime branch officials have reached my office and wanted to take away my computer's hard disk. They did not inform me earlier, but suddenly showed up," said Siddique, adding, "How can they just come and confiscate my hard disk? There are confidential details about my other clients in it and I am not the accused here, but voluntarily helping the police in the investigation and this is the treatment that I get."

The crime branch had a completely different take on the search. "In addition to a number of oral requests, we sent him two notices requesting him to submit the videos, but he did not paid heed to them. The videos will help in the investigation and hence, a team was sent to collect it," said KMM Prasanna, additional commissioner of police (crime).
