A month after students who appeared for the Common Management Admission Test (C-MAT) alleged that there were discrepancies in the results, the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has now formed an enquiry committee to look into it.

On February 20, DNA first reported about several students alleging that there was a 'scam' in the C-MAT results as 16 of the top 20 rank holders had appeared for the exam from the same centre number 11510. Several students said that they had scored way lower than the estimated score while many even scored zero.

While the AICTE initially denied the possibility of any such scam, students insisted on an enquiry and wrote to the PM's office. Recently, candidates who had lodged complaints received an email from AICTE that said, "AICTE has constituted 'One Man Committee' headed by a Retired Justice of a High Court to investigate into the complaints received from various candidates pertaining to the results/Merit List of CMAT-2018 Examination."

The AICTE has asked all the candidates who made complaints to be at its headquarters on March 20, adding that it would bear their travel expenses.
