Two BMC officials booked for molesting woman in Ghatkopar

The civic officials have also lodged a cross-complaint against the woman.

The Pantnagar police have registered a case against two Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation officers on Tuesday evening for allegedly molesting a 35-year-old woman. 

The accused have been identified as Yogesh Tivarekar and one Pendharkar who work in N ward office of BMC.
The civic officials have also lodged a cross-complaint against the woman and the police have booked the woman for deterring public servant from discharging his duties.

According to the police, the woman who is marketing professional was allegedly molested in Ghatkopar. The police said the woman had come to the N ward office of BMC on Tuesday morning around 12 pm with her work when the accused allegedly touched her inappropriately and abused her. Following the incident, the woman immediately approached Pantnagar police and lodged the complaint.

"After receiving the complaint, we verified her claims and registered an FIR against the accused," said a police officer adding that their probe is on and no arrests have been made in the case yet.

"A cross-complaint has been registered and we are investigating the matter," said Rohini Kale, Senior police inspector of Pantnagar police station.
