Left parties along with various social organizations gathered under the leadership of Prakash Ambedkar for Elgaar March on Monday to demand the arrest of Sambhaji Bhide, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis would face another statewide protest march on Wednesday in support of Sambhaji Bhide and Milind Ekbote.

It was a catch 20 or 'devil and the deep blue sea...' situation for the CM on Monday, who bought eight day's time to act on the demand of arrest of Sambhaji Bhide in connection with Bhima Koregaon violence. While one was Elgaar March for the arrest of Sambhaji Bhide, the one in support of Bhide will come up tomorrow.

One person was killed after violence erupted at Bhima Koregaon on January 1, 2018 when Dalits gathered at Victory memorial to mark 200th anniversary of Bhima Koregaon battle. Ambedkar had alleged that Bhide and Ekbote had fomented the violence. Samasta Hindu Aghadi leader Milind Ekbote was arrested while Bhide is still at large.

After his followers and activists from 260 organizations gathered at Azad Maidan on Monday, Ambedkar along with a delegation called on Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis at Vidhan Bhavan. CPI leader Prakash Reddy along with Maratha historian Shrimant Kokate, Datta Desai, Ashok Sonawane, Shivanand Haibatkure, Milind Ranade accompanied him.

Citing a facebook post by one Raosaheb Patil that threatened to kill Chief Minister of the state, Ambedkar said that this post also displayed photo of Sambhaji Bhide and without Bhide's blessings this post would not have been posted since Patil is Bhide's disciple. Ambedkar said that though he was not happy with the discussions with Fadnavis, he has given eight day's time for arresting Bhide. He said, `if Bhide is not arrested in eight days, we would Gherao Vidhan Bhavan (encircle state assembly building).' Pointing it out that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had tweeted in which his photograph with Sambhaji Bhide was given, Ambedkar said, "In a way, Prime Minister has support for Bhide."

All right-wing organizations have decided to take out district-wise protest marches in support of Sambhaji Bhide and Milind Ekbote. March would be taken out in every district to demand withdrawal of cases against Bhide and Ekbote. The marches are titled as Bhide Guruji Sanman Mahamorcha and the one at Sangli is likely to be the biggest one since Bhide enjoys more supporters in the district.
