Maharashtra: Asked to stop adultery, wife pours hot oil on hubby, daughters

On Thursday late night, a wife allegedly threw hot oil on her husband after he asked her to stop adultery when the heated argument led to his two daughters being burnt. Now, the trio are recuperating at JJ Hospital.

According to the police, the victims have been identified as Shantaram Khale, daughters Vaishali and Sakshi (both minors). They were having dinner when they witnessed their parents arguing over their mother's alleged affair.

Amidst the heated argument, the woman took the cooking pan in which oil was kept for heating and suddenly threw it on her husband's face. The hot oil spilled over the daughters, leading to severe burn injuries. The neighbhours rushed them to a local private hospital for treatment.

"The husband was asking his wife to stop adultery by not meeting her boyfriend," said an official from Tulinj police station.

"During the heated argument, the wife took the cooking pan in hand and threw the oil on her husband's face. He suffered severe burns and started screaming, alerting the neighbhours who rushed him and the minors to the hospital," said the official.

"We have sent our officials to JJ hospital for taking their statements and we will register the offence against the woman under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code," said Kiran Kabadi, police inspector, Tulinj police station.

"The couple had filed the case against each other of assault and dowry harassment, which turned ugly on the night of the incident," added Kabadi.
