Ashish Shelar-Raj Thackeray meet for unknown agenda

In a significant development, BJP's city president Ashish Shelar on Sunday met MNS President Raj Thackeray at the latter's residence in Dadar.

Both, otherwise active on social media, did not disclose the meeting nor share any detail with their followers. Raj Thackeray didn't reply to any query on his meeting with Shelar, and Shelar didn't disclose anything either. When contacted, Shelar told DNA, "I will talk to you later. I am busy in a meeting at the moment."

Only two days ago, Shiv Sena doled out a major blow to both the BJP and the MNS, when six out of a total of seven corporators of MNS defected to Shiv Sena. Even though Shiv Sena President Uddhav Thackeray has announced that these six corporators are only back to the pavillion (ghar wapsi) and were original Sena corporators, their fate depends on the decision taken by the Konkan Bhavan divisional commissioner.

In this backdrop, Shelar called on Raj Thackeray on Sunday morning. BJP sources informed that Shelar discussed these political developments in the BMC with the MNS honcho. While both the MNS and the BJP are keeping mum on the issue, Shelar's tweet soon after the defection of the MNS corporators reveals a lot. He had said, "Sena's so-called Diwali dhamaka is full of dampened ammunition."
