The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is considering a project to link Carter Road promenade and Joggers' Park in Bandra west, which are adjacent to each other.
According to a civic official, the idea is the brainchild of Yuva Sena leader Aaditya Thackeray. The missing link is hardly 25 metres long, and after the two are connected, the length of Carter Road promenade will increase from 1.6 km to 2.2 km.
In a tweet on Friday, Thackeray said he has submitted the plan to mayor Vishwanath Mahadeshwar and municipal commissioner Ajoy Mehta. Sharad Ughade, assistant commissioner of H-West (Bandra), confirmed that there is a proposal to connect the two. "It is being discussed at the civic chief level and I have yet to get it," he said, adding that a feasibility study will be conducted once the proposal reaches the ward office.
