Review: Fukrey Returns is a fun ride. Part one of this franchise, which released in 2013 had smarter writing and offered a fresher perspective on this bunch of blundering idiots, who depended on Choocha's premonition skills to help them navigate through their kadki(financial crunch).  This part too does have some sharp wit and crackling dialogue.  Only the pace is not balanced.  So even at two hours, twenty minutes it sometimes feel stretched.

The quartet's plans to float a lottery scheme to make quick bucks is hare-brained and a lot of the humour comes unstuck because the plan doesn't stick.

Movie-makers show a lazy approach to comic capers because most of them think their target audience is the same as that of Kapil Sharma/Krushna Abhishek shows on television. But the black-outs of the stand-up comedians like the ones named above should be a warning to filmmakers to treat the audience more respectfully.  Honestly an evolved audience will  balk at some of the scenes in Fukrey Returns.

Coming to the better elements, the credit for this movie needs to go to just two actors--one is Choocha and the other is Panditji.  Both of them get you to crack up every time they are in the frame.  Writer Vipul Vig who helps Choocha look dumber than most, is also one of the heroes of the film because he has managed some funny and preposterous dialogues.

The rest of the cast is lackluster.  Honey's swag is misplaced; Lali and Zafar have thankless parts. Richa has some ``will-strike-you-dead'' dialogue but fails to impress with her appearance or her performance.  Also her wardrobe is atrocious.  She should burn those clothes.

The Mehbooba track provides for a distraction but you can see that the producers were penny-pinching because the screen is filled with faceless goris and junior artistes.

Tip:If you're in a forgiving mood and ready to laugh at some gibberish, watch the Fukras.  Otherwise, forget it.
