    * German auto major Volkswagen today said its sedans Ameo and Vento will be available for sale under the Directorate General of Supplies and Disposal (DGS&D) specified price for government organisations.

    The government-owned entities can now avail the Vento and Ameo, both petrol and diesel variants, at an attractive price approved by the DGS&D throughout the year, the company said in a statement.

    "We are pleased to have both our made-in-India products approved and available under DGS&D Rate Contract," Volkswagen Passenger Cars India Director Michael Mayer said.

    "This further strengthens our bond and reiterates our commitment towards providing a comfortable and safe driving experience to the Indian consumers," he added.

    The Volkswagen Vento and Ameo are manufactured at its Chakan plant, Pune.

    Grofers partners Reliance Fresh

    * Grocery delivery start-up Grofers today said it has partnered with Reliance Fresh stores to support delivery for 14 cities in the country.

    Customers visiting Grofers app will be able to order from over 3,500 items across categories including groceries, fruits and general merchandise from Reliance Fresh and Reliance Smart Outlets, Grofers said in a statement.

    The service will be available in cities like Gurgaon, Jaipur, Indore, Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Bhubaneswar and Ranchi.

    "We have forged a pan-India partnership with Reliance Fresh. We plan to launch exclusively with Reliance Fresh in smaller cities. This will set us on the path towards being a true omni-channel player with our partner Reliance," Grofers co-founder Albinder Dhindsa said.

    Following its restructuring in September last year, Grofers is currently processing 12,000 orders a day at an average value of Rs 1,000 per order. Its delivery service is operational in 25 cities.
