Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a leading global IT services, consulting and business solutions organization, on Tuesday announced, it won the prestigious National Intellectual Property Award 2016.

In addition, both the Indian Intellectual Property Office and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) have jointly conferred on TCS the WIPO Award for Innovative Enterprise.

Hon'ble Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, Minister of Commerce and Industry, Govt of India, presented both the awards to TCS at a function organized by the Indian Intellectual Property Office and Confederation of Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CII).

Speaking about the award Santosh Mohanty, Global Head - Components Engineering group, TCS said, "We are honored to receive both these esteemed awards. TCS continuously strives to create innovative solutions and re-imagine technologies to provide the best experiences for its customers.

These awards bolster our beliefs and encourage us to do even better." The Indian Intellectual property office confers national intellectual property awards on outstanding organizations and companies in the fields of patents, designs, trademarks and geographical indications on the occasion of World IP Day every year. The National IP Award carries an amount of Rs 100,000, a citation and a memento. The WIPO award comprises a trophy and a citation.
