Electricity distribution company Tata Power-DDL today launched energy-efficient LED lighting and ceiling fans in association with Energy Efficiency Services Limited under the UJALA scheme for its customers.

According to the power distributer which serves north and north-west parts of Delhi, LED lighting products and BEE 5 star ceiling fans would be offered to the consumers at "special discounted rates".

A nine watt LED bulb will be available at Rs 65 while a 20 watt LED tube light will cost Rs 230. Also, BEE 5 star rated Ceiling Fan will be available at Rs 1150 per piece, TPDDL said in a statement.

"TATA Power-DDL's main intent behind promoting the UJALA Scheme is to increase the penetration of energy efficient LED lighting products and ceiling fans among its customer base which will result in energy saving and reduction in electricity bills.

"The energy efficient products will provide competitive pricing and warranty to its patrons. Furthermore, this will build efficient load management and will increase awareness about energy efficient technologies," the company said in a statement.
