Raghuram Rajan, Governor, Reserve Bank of India, India-born Google CEO Sundar Pichai and Flipkart's founders Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal make it to the '100 most influential people in the world' list of 2016 released by Time on Thursday.

The list includes Bollywood diva Priyanka Chopra and tennis player Sania Mirza as well.

Terming Rajan as "India's prescient banker", Time said he is among a rare breed of 'economic seers' who steered India through the global crisis and fallout, "playing a large role in making it one of the emerging market stars of the moment".

While serving as the youngest chief economist of the IMF from 2003 to 2006, Time said Rajan predicted the subprime crisis that would lead to the Great Recession. Time and again he has stood up to the critics and shocked people with his blunt but subtle speeches.

Moving further to brothers and founders of Flipkart, Sachin and Binny Bansal. Time said the Bansals may have come across as arrogant when they told investors the company they started in 2007 as an online bookstore could be worth $100 million in a decade. It turned out to be modesty. Flipkart now has 75 million users and $13 billion valuation, according to Time.

On Sundar Pichai, author Bill Nye said, the "internet's chief engineer" has helped "change the world".

This Chennai-born CEO of Google has come up with lot of innovative ideas and the world is now watching what he comes up with next.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a miss this year. He was among the top contenders but could not make it to the final list of 2016. Modi was among the 100 most influential people in the world last year.

The list includes pioneers like IMF head, Christine Lagarde, Oscar-winning actor Leonardo DiCaprio, Pope Francis, Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla, Vladimir Putin, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Xi Jinping, Justn Trudeau and many more.

Well, congratulations to all for being influential enough to make it to the list.
