* IT firm Geometric said its amalgamation with HCL Technologies and 3D PLM Software Solutions has become effective from today.

"The Scheme of Arrangement and Amalgamation between Geometric, HCL Technologies Limited and 3D PLM Software Solutions has become effective on March 2, 2017," Geometric said in a statement.

Under the transaction, the entire business of Geometric has been transferred to HCL, it added.

Simultaneously, Geometric has been merged into 3D PLM, it said.

In April last year, HCL Technologies had signed an agreement to acquire all the business of Geometric in an equity swap deal.

The acquisition, however, excluded the 58 per cent stake that Geometric owned in a joint venture -- 3D PLM Software Solutions Ltd -- with Dassault Systemes.

Mumbai-based Geometric is a product life cycle management consulting, mechanical engineering and manufacturing engineering services provider.

HCL Technologies is India's fourth largest IT services firm.

The deal will help HCL Technologies target the rapidly growing manufacturing engineering and PLM services market more aggressively. It also strengthens HCL's automotive and industrial practices.

Eicher Polaris rolls out BS IV-compliant Multix * Eicher Polaris, a 50:50 joint venture between Eicher Motors and Polaris Industries, has achieved full compliance with BS IV emission norms for its personal utility vehicle Multix.

The company has achieved compliance way ahead of the Environment Pollution Control Authority's regulation deadline of April 1, Eicher Polaris said in a statement.

"Manufacturing vehicles that follow emission norms are a critical regulatory requirement and it is only prudent for all of us to catch up with the trends and make suitable products for our customers," Eicher Polaris CEO Pankaj Dubey said.

Roll-out of BS IV variants in advance is something that justifies the company's vision and mission for the future, he added.

A year after its launch, the company now markets the vehicle in 13 states across the country. Eicher Polaris also plans to expand dealership network to 150-plus markets by third quarter of 2017 with the BS IV-compliant Multix variants.
