Haryana government has sent a detailed project report to the central government for its approval to widen three road stretches on National Highway-444A, Ambala which would be made four-laned and six-laned at a cost of about Rs 786 crore.

While stating this here today, Health Minister Anil Vij said these stretches are from Ambala Railway Station to the end of industrial estate Ambala Cantt, end of industrial estate Ambala Cantt to Panchkula road and the third is Saha junction point to Shahabad.

Referring to details of the project, he said that in case of first road stretch from Ambala Railway Station to Capital Chowk, it would be six laned and from Capital Chowk it would be elevated upto Tangri bridge. This 6.5 km long stretch will cost Rs 364.78 crore.

The second road stretch from end of Industrial Estate, Ambala Cantt. to Saha, that is from 6.5 km to 15.10 km, would be four-laned.

In this stretch, three parallel bridges along with existing major bridges will be constructed. A byepass will also be constructed at Saha town. Its total cost will be about Rs 159 crore, he said.

He said that the third road stretch from 15.10 km to 32.60 km that is from Saha junction to Shahabad would be four-laned.

In this stretch, a parallel ROB along with existing ROB will be constructed and a byepass will also be constructed at Saha town. It would cost Rs 262 crore.

These roads would have all the facilities like drain, footpath, bus lay bay, truck lay bay, utility ducts, traffic sign marking and street lights. The widening of these roads would not only benefit the people of northern Haryana, but would also increase the commercial activities.
