Gurgaon-based startup Cabby today announced its foray into cab aggregator segment with plans to start operations in Delhi-NCR and Bengaluru.

Besides running cabs in the mass-end segment, Cabby said it will also offer premium service with in-cab entertainment such as beverages, eateries and tablets with internet services.

Cabby Founder Sahil Arora said the company will start operations in the Capital from tomorrow, and its application will be available on Google and Apple app stores from tonight.

"We are also launching our services in Bangalore on April 10 with a bigger audience. After that we are targetting Bombay and Chennai. We will further expand in tier 2 and tier 3 cities," he told reporters here.

Arora, who is just 18 years-old, said the total investment in to the venture is around Rs 10 crore but claimed there were no external investors in the company.

The USD 4 million fund for this venture was raised by selling a previous venture, he said.

Cabby will have a base fare of Rs 37.50 for 5.5 km or 20 minutes of ride, whichever is earlier. It will compete with the likes of Ola and Uber.

Arora claimed that Cabby would also have a fleet of 500 cars driven by women for women riders to ensure safety.
