Iridescence infused
Namrata Joshipura
Theme: The queen of surface texturing and embellishments was inspired from Lakmé's latest skin care innovation Lakmé Insta Light.
Wow factor: 3 D sequins, beads, crystals and metallics woven into the fabric made it sexy, glam-rock-ish and edgy transforming the gleaming runway into a frenzied romp. Batwing printed covers, dolman sleeve tops, asymmetric long sleeve printed wraps, drop waist dresses and shimmering racer back tops stood out. We loved the beaded bodysuits and micro shorts layered with tulle skirts - which brought to mind Jennifer Lopez. The music was definitely the highpoint of the show and complemented the imagery stunningly. Girls wore glitter lips and hair slickly pulled back into a pony accented with metallic hair accessories. The NJ girl is a gleaming goddess, who doesn't shy away from wearing jewel-tones from head to toe.
What could have been better: Wish we had seen more of everyday basic ready-to-wear pieces with minimal embellishments to give the line a totality.
Showstopper: Shraddha Kapoor morphed herself into a sexpot as she rocked a jumpsuit.

Goth goddesses
Nachiket Barve
Theme:
Chiaroscuro
Wow factor: Goth was the mood and the enchanting musical beats that accompanied the model march added to the darkness. The NB girl sports thick busy eyebrows and wears
minis, skirts and jackets like a medieval armour. Inspired by gryphons and raven feathers, the line had a mythical allure which resonated thanks to thread embroidery, bead work, appliqués and cutwork which accented the dark motifs. There were roses turned into cutwork on fine Dupion and gryphons embellished in bullion. The embellished minis and a pair of shorts clubbed with a long jacket oozed sexiness.
What could have been avoided: The peasant skirts paired with blouses looked left out of the rest of the sexy and streamlined collection.

Edgy Essentials
Arjun Saluja
Theme:
Titled Abandoned, Arjun Saluja's essential line for his label Rishta was bold and edgy.
Wow factor: He showcased after a really long time, which made the comeback even more exciting. The easy separates were a fair mix of ready-to-wear silhouettes in brand's signature style. One can't miss the Japanese undertones and street style influence. Or should we say formal wear with a twist? There were rough edges, splash of of paint, shattered blocks, grunge elements which were stunningly realised into the line. He used zipper adding to the utilitarian factor. Menswear was definitely the highlight of the show especially the long coats paired with leather pants and leather blousons.
What could have been better: The volume and structure may not be in favour with every Indian body type but the label has always been about edgy smart formal wear.
