ISKCON to celebrate janmashtami with tri-colour theme

Janmashtami, the birthday of Lord Krishna, would assume a patriotic fervour at a temple in South Mumbai here with the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) celebrating the festival on August 14 and 15.

Over 750 temples of ISKCON temples located across the the world have geared up to celebrate janmashtami, including in Mumbai at Radha-Gopinath temple, a statement issued by ISKCON said.

Radha-Gopinath temple has introduced a tricolour theme for the celebrations this year as its premises would be decorated in tri-colour.

As part of the celebration, all ISKCON temples perform mangal aaarti followed by tulsi aarti, guru puja, katha and kirtans by senior acharyas, kalash abhishek, maha abhishek and maha bhog.
