Her label has always been a synonym of elaborate craftsmanship and couture quality. The lady who's dressed some of the most celebrated brides in the country unleashes her new decor and home limited edition line of rare collectibles this month. "It's always been my cherished dream to present a collection of beautiful things for homes. Being an avid collector of old and antique pieces myself, this new label is purely an extension of my personality," says the designer. In fact some of the pieces were so close to designer's heart that she found it hard to part with it.

Extension of my style
Some of the pieces have been sourced from the world over.....whether it is Cliniancourt Paris or Chatuchak in Thailand! These markets have been a great source of inspiration to the designer.
"It's an extension of my fashion brand. It's partly created and partly curated by me. Europe is where my style sensibility and core aesthetic lies. There's a cushion cover which has 130 year old embroidery and when I got it from French antique market, it wasn't in the best of condition. The colour had faded but today you look at it in a different light," she shares.
Inspired by the palaces of Europe, the line of bedspreads and cushions are steeped in old world nostalgia.

The Pallavi Jaikishan Home Line has commissioned pieces of tapestry from France and Belgium. Also wall hangings: some woven, some painted and embroidered! A line of embroidered and quilted bedspreads, and a vast variety of cushions have been designed by Pallavi.
"Some of these cushions have been created from genuine antique fabrics with Berlin woolwork embroidery, which are hard to find today", adds Pallavi. Besides this there is also a small collection of antique paisley shawls.

Her take on minimalism
One's curious to ask her what she thinks of the currently prevalent wave of minimalist fashion and decor. "I don't believe in minimalism. It's an individualistic taste. The question is who's living in it. All looks work provided how you put it all together," says the doyenne.

Luxury to me is...
"Anything that makes you feel supremely good. Something that makes you feel - I own it and and I'm proud of it," she concludes.
