No one combines luxury travel and high fashion like Monisha Jaising. From her interpretation of Soho’s wild party girl to capturing the mood of a destination bridesmaid vacationing in the heart of the romantic Notting Hill to her fitting tribute to the sailing bride in her last outing — Monisha has been penning a rich encyclopedia of jet-set glamour for years now. Champagne, canapes, carats, cruise and couture — all the Cs come together to unleash a glittery fury of oomph, easy chic style and red carpet glam slam. The shy and almost self-effacing designer shares, “It’s inspired by the Arabian sea and the evening lights. I’m hosting a sundowner by the harbour which captures the sunset light.”

She has toyed with a lot of whites and metallics — primarily gold and silver so it catches the balmy sunset light. Also, the line is peppered with a lot of pop colours. The designer who likes to take off and sketch in the picturesque Saint-Tropez says, “I always keep travel in mind. The collection is also about the party girls travelling all over the world and attending a diverse array of events — it could be an after party, a beach club party or a red carpet do.”

The designer, who referenced the quintessential femme fatale Brigitte Bardot last time, had today’s evolved-and-playful glamazon in mind for this collection. In a line comprising beaded dresses, she’s mixed pieces from Cruise by Monisha Jaising pieces with the ultra-glam Monisha Jaising line. Can’t wait!
