Come lunch time, and office goers in and around the Queen of suburbs are always looking for new takeaway options. Buddha Bowl, a new takeout service has stepped in, to fill this very demand. The focus is on dishing out  salad bowls and curries from across Asia.

Why you will be tempted to trade your dabba for this bowl
Focusing on dishing out Oriental food, Buddha Bowl has an interesting mix of salad, rice and noodle bowls. We ordered some of the items on the menu and came away impressed. To start with, we ordered the Vegetable Pho (Rs 390), a flavourful broth made with rice noodles and spring vegetables, a great option for for small eaters. For mains, we went with the Veg Rendang curry (Rs 410 ), served with steamed rice. What we got was a generous serving of veggies like brocolli, zucchini, babycorn and yellow peppers. We could even taste the lemongrass and the galangal that gives it its authentic rendang flavour. This mildly spicy curry can also be had as a wholesome soup.  The Kai Sate chicken bowl (Rs 390), again, offers a generous portion of quinoa pilaf with grilled veggies and chicken skewers served with a peanut sauce. The pilaf on its own is a little dry, but we did enjoy it with the sauteed veggies including red and yellow bell peppers, zucchini, mushrooms and babycorn. But the star of the dish is the sweet and salty peanut sauce, that takes the dish a few notches higher.
