Designer Anita Dongre showcased her Winter '17 collection titled ?Tree of Love? on Day 6 of the ongoing India Couture Week 2017 in the national capital. The collection, inspired by the designer's love for trees and the Bishnoi tribe, pays homage to the Bishnoi community's spiritual reverse for nature using intricate weaves and embroideries that celebrate fine Indian craftsmanship and a way of life.

While talking exclusively to ANI, Anita shared the idea and inspiration behind her collection and said that her collection was a tribute to the Bishnoi tribe. ?My collection was titled 'Tree of Love' and my collection was a tribute to the Bishnoi community, who have always worshipped nature and truly done everything to protect it. Everything was an embroidered, a lot of people saw some of the pieces and thought that the embroidery was fine as a printed, but it?s not. There was not a single printed in the collection, everything that audience saw was an embroidered,? she said.

The designer added, ?I am very proud of my ?beautiful? women artisans. They have done an amazing job. My men?s collection is always very classic, and you really have to come closely to see the embroidery. I don?t know whether audience gets to see that. My men?s collection has detailed work. I think it was just perfect for the wedding this season.?

The collection combined traditional weaves and exquisite embroideries with silhouettes influenced by contemporary styles for both brides and grooms. Every ensemble told the story of nature in hues of blue, rich maroons, inky black, and a stunning emerald green.

Anita also shared, ?Tree of love is a collection that is special to me. It is inspired by everything I love and respect- memories of childhood summers in the garden with my grandfather and the spiritual reverence for nature that the Bishnoi tribe shares. I've married together my love for trees, rich Indian craftsmanship and music into one collection making this a true work of joy."

Anita Dongre?s outfits were complemented by stunning pieces from Pink city, her fine jewellery label of uncut diamonds. Starting with a contemporary presentation of minimal jewellery, the show built up to resplendent bridal couture with layered pieces. Also part of the collection was classic menswear looks. The designer made a strong statement with the showstopper look in traditional red flanked by her bridesmaids in classic gold.
