Designer diaries: Daddy's little girl

I always wished I had a little daughter who never grew up, and since in my part of the world you have to get married to have kids, you can clearly see that I don't have any, 'cause I am not married. But then when I reached London, there she was - daddy's little girl, all so grown-up, outspoken, intelligent and beautiful - my very own flower child with a mind of her own, to greet me. She is none other than Alizeh Alvira and Atul Agnihotri's daughter.

I then looked at London through this 19-year-old's eyes - bright and vibrant - and saw a new side to the same old streets and shopping stores. As we sit at Dolly's ( this cool tea place at Selfridges) she runs me through her school projects and all her writing in her school news paper. I am now all sold-out on this miss little know it all.

But back home, daddy's little girl Tanka who is also all grown-up, has a strong mind of her own, and who is the heir to my throne of fashion, is none other then my niece Tanushka. (The only one I will go through any lengths to find any thing she wants in London) so this head strong Miss Tanka is the only one who can get away with murder.

To me London or Mumbai, with my girls - one who calls me papa and the other mamu - who needs a another daughter?
