Sapotra MLA Ramesh Meena opened up the debate on budget announcements with allegations of financial mismanagement.

The debate though was not just limited to the 2017-18 budget but also witness mention of ‘Gandhi’ family, prime minister Narendra Modi and Veer Sawarkar.

The assembly also witnessed brushes between ruling party MLA and minister, till the debate got adjourned to continue on Thursday.

The deputy leader of opposition Ramesh Meena was heading the opposition as leader of opposition Rameshwar Dudi called a sick leave. Meena protested the budget and financial planning of the government, from rising debt to ‘hazardous’ cost-cutting measures.

“The debt rose to Rs 2,79,828 crore in 2017-18 and is expected to cross Rs 3,80,000 crore in 2018-19, it is due to financial mismanagement or management as you may call that debt is rising on state,” said Meena.

In an extended statement on the budget, he went on to question the budget allocations for flagship schemes like the farmer loan waiver, for which only Rs 2,000 crore have been provisioned in the budget against ‘Rs 8,000 crore’ mentioned in the budget announcement.

The Rs 52,000 crore for waterworks projects to be announced in the budget he said only happens to find the budget allocation of ‘Rs 3-4 thousand crores’.

Further putting the financial management under question, he raised the issue of Transformer blast at Shahpura which had claimed 21 lives, the Sapotra MLA sighting an order said that safety fuse were bypassed as a ‘cost cutting’ measure and resulted in the accident.

At the budget discussion during the day, many other members from either of the side expressed their views on the budget presented by the chief minister on Monday. the debate adjourned after a statement of BJP MLA Tarun Ray Kaga, in which he held the objections of opposition as the frustration of being ousted from power.

He said that the CM has provisioned for all sectors and no one should have objections to such a budget.
