Smoke from train’s toilet creates ruckus

A major crisis was averted on Wednesday when a passenger saw smoke coming out of a toilet in Delhi bound Porbandar-Delhi Sarai Rohilla Express when it was passing through Alwar. The railway officials hurriedly de-linked the entire coach and the passengers of the coach were shifted to other coaches. This incident delayed the train by more than 2 hours.

Giving the information, chief public relation officer of NWR, Tarun Jain, said that in train number 19263, a passenger in a general coach saw smoke coming out and alerted the railway officials at 16:27 hours. It was found that in the panel of the toilet, somebody had put garbage and waste items and somebody had put a burning bidi on it. This caused smoke in the areas.

The railway officials acted swiftly and asked all the passengers to shift to different coaches. Thereafter, the smoke was doused and to avoid any untoward incident, the particular coach was detached from the train. However, all this delayed the train by more 2 hours and it was moved at 18:27 hours. Later, the twitter handle of DRM Jaipur issued an advisory informing the passengers not to smoke bidis or cigarette in the train.
