Special security arrangements have been put in place in the cinema hall where the controversial movie Padmaavat will be shown in Jodhpur to the single bench of the High Court judge Sandeep Mehta.

About two hundred policemen, including three RPS officers, will be deployed for security. Justice Mehta and four staff members of registrar and judiciary will be present during the special screening and will subsequently decide  if or not the movie can be put in theatres for public viewing. Mobile patrolling will also continue. Moreover, information about security arrangements was sent by police commissioner to Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s lawyer Nishant Boda.

The screening will be done in a theatre in Jodhpur, at 8 pm on Monday.

DCP Amandeep said that one ADCP, two ACPs, eight SHOs and 150 policemen will be deployed for security on Monday during the film’s screening. Apart from this, the mobile patrolling party will be deployed outside the cinema. Moreover, a review of all the security settlements took place on Sunday.

After watching Padmaavat’s promo last year, a person named Virendra Singh in Nagaur district had lodged a case against director Bhansali, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone for hurting religious and social sentiments.

After this, an appeal was made in the Rajasthan High Court on behalf of the three regarding cancellation of the FIR. During the hearing on Friday, Justice Mehta had said that the court cannot decide without watching the film that religious and social sentiments are being hurt. After this, the court ordered the film director for the special screening of Padmaavat.
