The upcoming visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has become a tool for the Congress to target chief minister Vasundhara Raje. Training his guns on Raje, PCC chief Sachin Pilot said on Tuesday that PM, during his visit to Udaipur on August 29, should clarify whether Raje will be the chief ministerial face in the Assembly election.

The pilot also asked the PM to give a reply or speak on the allegations raised by the Congress be it a mining scam in the tune of Rs 45,000 crore or Lalitgate. “Modi should also speak on graft charges against the Raje government. The current government has been mired into a scam of Rs 45,000 crore and strangely the government has appointed Lokayukta as investigating agency which is toothless against the CM and her ministers.”

The BJP-ruled Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra and the Congress-ruled Punjab and Karnataka have waived farmers’ loans. Why Rajasthan has not done this, asked Pilot. Last year, 60 farmers committed suicide while in the current year 15-16 have died due to the debt burden. What crime the farmers of Rajasthan have committed that their loans not waived, said Pilot, announcing that party will launch an agitation for the farmers’ demands next month.
