New industrial areas with modern facilities to be set up: Rajpal Singh Shekhawat

The State Government will introduce a new export policy to promote exports. Also, lease rentals policy for Rajasthan State Industrial Development & Investment Corporation (RIICO) areas will also be made. Industry Minister Rajpal Singh Shekhawat announced this in the legislative assembly on Thursday.

Responding to the industry department’s grant-in-demands in the state assembly, Shekhawat announced to make the new industrial areas with modern facilities. He announced that the interest rate of RIICO will be same as the prevailing interest rate . He said that rules of land allotment will be simplified in RIICO and in the coming days, the RIICO will be given makeover. 

In the current situation, RIICO remained a real estate broker, but now its name will remain the same but the work will change. Shekhawat said 2.40 lakh new industries have been started during the last four year tenure of the state government. 

As many as 470 MoUs were signed under Resurgent Rajasthan in 2015, out of which 181 MoUs have been completed and about Rs 2.02 lakh crores are being invested. 

Shekhawat spelled out the achievements of the department in four years and said that 87 services of 15 departments have been added to the single window system. With this, there is a continuous establishment of industries in the state.

In the past four years industries established has doubled and about 30 lakh people have got employment. The number of registered industries in the year 2013 were 3.97 lakh and of this 18 lakh jobs were available. Turn to P4
