Union Health Minister J P Nadda calls for a healthy nation at Zee Hindustan's 'Healthy Hindustan Conclave-2017'
Union health minister JP Nadda said that Modi government’s health policy is focused on preventing diseases rather than on diseases.The health minister was speaking in ZEE Hindustan’s ‘Healthy Hindustan Conclave 2017’ in New Delhi on Saturday. Jagdish Chandra, CEO of Zee Hindustan was also present in the programme. Zee Hindustan felicitated many doctors for their excellent contribution in the programme.
Nadda said that health is a serious field and everyone has a different viewpoint on health. According to him, Modi government launched a new health scheme in 2017, which concentrates on prevention than disease itself. He said that the first and second year of a child is very important from health perspective. The first two years decides his future and the government is working maximum on immune system of children.
The union health minister said that the government believes that healthy children mean healthy nation and working in this direction. He said that fifth phase of ‘Mission Indradhanush’ is underway and 60% target has been achieved. In the sixth phase in 2018, it will be 90% completed.
“India cannot be compared with other nations in the world in health matters. We are a huge country where people have all kind of liberty. This is a unique country, which cannot be compared with other nations at least in health matters,” he said.
According to Nadda, when entire world is worried about Ibola and Zica, India’s checking system is so strong that when a single patient is found, he is allowed to go after completely curing him. In a way there is no impact of Ibola and Zica in India.
“The country has now six more AIIMS instead of just one and soon six more will be set up. Simultaneously, we are converting district hospitals in medical colleges. So far 58 district hospitals have been converted and 60 more are in queue. Today even rural children are studying medicine and the country is progressing in health sector. This change is visible in last three years,” he claimed.
CMD of Kent RO, Mahesh Gupta also attended the programme. He said that changing lifestyle is creating health problems. “We are polluting the earth, which is contributing to the health problems,” he said.
According to Gupta, the government is trying to provide clean drinking water but water sources have been polluted and antibiotics have mixed in it. “This is time to think and go back to Ayuverda, which is close to nature. Only ayurveda can help India become healthy nation,” he added.
Zee Hindustan CEO, Jagdish Chandra said that ZEE is voice of the country. It is forever ready to spread message to the masses. “We will help in creating public awareness about health programmes,” Chandra said.
