Bandh was effective in morning but life returned to normal as day progressed

The bandh called on Tuesday received a mixed response across Rajasthan. Internet services remained suspended and Section 144 was imposed in Jalore, Jaipur, Alwar and Sikar. There was heavy deployment of police, BSF, RAF, RAC and CRPF battalions across the state and situation largely remained peaceful.
No organisation had given a call for bandh, but as a precautionary measure traders had kept their shops and establishments closed. After the violence that took place on April 2, schools had remained closed to avoid any untoward incident from taking place.
The effect of bandh was seen in Sikar, Shrimadhopur, Jalore, Hindaun, Alwar and several other districts in the first half of the day. However shops were opened and life returned to normal in the later half of the day.
While bus services operated normally across most parts; they remained suspended on the Bharatpur-Hindaun-Agra route. There was mild altercation between protesters and police at Baran.
