A 36-year-old real estate builder from Delhi was arrested from Eidgah area under Kishorepura police station for sending hoax terror attack message on mobile to Inspector General of Police, Bharatpur range.

The accused Abdul Shakir (36), who hails from Karoli city but at present is based in New Delhi, alleged that he was forced to take this step because of police inaction in a dispute he is having with his relatives.

Shakir during the interrogation said his uncle’s family in Karoli was last week attacked by a group of people and cross cases were lodged with the police. However, what made his furious was that the local police took no action against the attackers. Instead, five members of his uncle’s family were put behind the bars. He had written to Prime Minister and other top officials and politicians but no action was taken.  Shakir on January 17 visited Karoli city and on Thursday night reached his aunt’s in Kota from where he messaged to I.G Bharatpur that the people of the other party have links with terror groups for which they have been collecting funding and can carry out terror attacks in Karoli at any time.  Shakir said he sent the message to IG so that the police take action against the other party. However, he admitted that the story of terror links is made up.

The message sent the police machinery of the state into a tizzy to trace the location of the messenger.  The youth was booked under section 151 and during the interrogation nothing significant came out. He was produced before SDM court where he was released with the restriction to maintain peace and lawful behaviour for next six months.
