Jaipur: Man goes on chopping spree, kills three

In a brutal incident that sent shock waves across Pokhran, a certain Dalaram on Friday chopped off the heads of his wife Kamla, brother Rewatram and brother’s wife Haria with a sharp in Rupar village of Balad gram panchyat near Pokhran.

The murder was done so ruthlessly that the heads of the trio got separated from the torso.  

The accused later tried to end his life by jumping into a well but survived. He was admitted to Mathuradas Mathur Hospital in Jodhpur in a critical condition.

Dalaram’s two daughters were slated to get married on Friday but after the incident, a pall of gloom descended in the village. Just a day before, the family had completed the haldi ceremony for their daughters.  

As soon as the information trickled out in the morning, villagers and relatives reported the matter to the Phalsund police. The police pulled out Dalaram out from the well with the help of villagers. He was taken to Pokhran Hospital but due to his serious condition, he was referred to the Mathuradas Mathur Hospital in Jodhpur. 

The police are looking for the weapon used in the murder. Jaisalmer SP Gaurav Yadav also reached the spot to probe the incident.  

The case is being investigated by taking statements of relatives. Initial investigations revealed that Dalarama was mentally ill and was undergoing treatment for mental illness at Jodhpur’s Mathuradas Mathur Hospital. 

Besides this, the financial condition of Dalaram may have prompted him to murder the trio. The bodies were handed over to family members after post mortem.
