Holding one’s own: Rs 15cr to promote entrepreneurship

Rajasthan Budget 2018 has also earmarked considerable amount for skill and training development in the state. Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, on Monday, announced commencement of as many as eight new Industrial Training Institutes across the state, in addition, smart classroom facilities will be extended to all district ITIs.

A provision for Rs 15 crore has also been made to promote entrepreneurship under the skill training scheme. Furthermore, as many as 27 district employment offices will be transformed as Model Career Centres with a provision of Rs 45 crore.

The government will also be developing 12 women wings under 24 government ITIs with an aim to strengthen women technical education.

Moreover, emphasis has been put on skill training in government colleges. The aim is to benefit about 12,000 students annually across 50 government colleges in the state by establishing 3 Fab Labs at Jhalawar, Bikaner, and Jodhpur districts. Also, as much as Rs 31 crore has been kept aside to be utilised in phases for construction of a State Sports Academy in Jhunjhunu. In addition to this, a provision for Rs 5 crore has been made to purchase equipment for Jagatpura-based International Shooting Range.
