Jaipur’s long wait for rains finally ended on Wednesday when the city received showers after a complete dry spell of more than 10 days. In fact, cloud activities in the sky over the city started in the night itself. Cloudy sky provided relief from the scorching heat and by the afternoon, rains started in the Walled City. Half an hour long good rains soaked the city and road were seen completely drenched.

Waterlogging also bothered commuters in some low-lying areas in Walled City.

Showers remained confined to Walled City, while other parts of the capital could see traces only but cool content in the air made the weather pleasant as temperatures were decreased by 5 degrees Celsius, 2 degrees below normal level. As per MeT, maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded at 33.4 and 26.8 degrees Celsius respectively.

MeT forecast says that rain or thunderstorm accompanied by rain likely to occur while maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 32 and 24 degrees Celsius respectively during next 24 hours.

The other parts of state, after witnessing a dry spell, recorded rain and thundershowers on Wednesday. As per the MeT, light to moderate rainfall occurred at a few isolated places in Udaipur division and Jaipur, Bharatpur, Jodhpur and Bikaner divisions.

Tijara recorded 60 mm rainfall followed by Kotkasim at 40 mm. Sarara, Salumber and Amber recorded 30 mm rainfall each.

MeT has issued a warning that heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at isolated places in east Rajasthan during next 24 hours.

Light rain and thundershower may occur over Alwar, Bharatpur, Churu, Dausa, Jaipur, Jhunjhunu, Karauli, Sawai Madhopur, Sikar and Tonk districts during next 24 hours.
