While expressing his happiness over Congress victory in the bypolls, former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said that the countdown of the BJP government’s exit has started. He accused the BJP government of working with a sense of revenge and reiterated that Congress government will be formed in Rajasthan and also at the Centre.

He credited the victory in the bypolls to congress national president Rahul Gandhi and said that because of his thinking and hard work, Congress emerged stronger in the Gujarat Legislative Assembly and now his focus will be Rajasthan. “The government at the Centre and in the state only misled the people and the result of this was that in spite of BJP being in power, the people now know their reality and chose not to trust their sugar coated promises and speeches that they delivered in the two Lok Sabha and one assembly elections held in the state. And with the intention of teaching BJP a lesson, people voted for Congress.

Ex-CM Gehlot gets rousing welcome in Jodhpur

The enthusiastic Congress workers gave a warm reception to former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, who reached Jodhpur for the first time after the Congress’ victory in the by-elections of Alwar and Ajmer Lok Sabha seats and Mandalgarh assembly seat. A large number of Congress leaders and workers along with party supporters gathered in huge numbers to welcome Gehlot at the railway station. Oozing out with immense enthusiasm, crowd cheered by shouting slogans like ‘Gehlot zindabad’ and ‘mukhya mantri kaisa ho, Gehlot jaisa’.

Basking in victory, Gehlot cheerfully accepted congratulatory greetings from Congress leaders and workers. Later, at the Circuit House as well, he met Congress workers and Congress office-bearers with great cordiality.

The former chief minister had reached Jodhpur for the foundation stone-laying ceremony of Akshardham temple in Kaliberi. He left for Jaisalmer after attending the programme.
