ED seizes city hotel in Rose Valley case

The action was taken under the prevention of money laundering act

Enforcement directorate on Thursday seized Hotel Park Prime near Statue Circle. Jaipur staff of ED provisionally attached the hotel after receiving an order from the Kolkata office. Hotel’s local administrators signed the attachment copy and another was pasted on the entrance gate of the hotel. The action was taken under the prevention of money laundering act.

There were apprehensions that the money earned from Rose Valley Chit Fund scam was used to buy this hotel, which is situated on 2533.7 square yards. For the moment, the ED action would not hamper its functioning but if the provisional attachment is verified, the hotel would become property of the government of India. General Manager Manvendra Tomar refused to comment on the ED action, saying that only the corporate office is authorised to comment. The Rose Valley Chit Fund scam was worth Rs 1950 crore in West Bengal and Odisha and some TMC and CPM leaders have been accused of involvement.work taken up by the Raghubar Das government in Jharkhand.
