Churu baba bobbitises self after ‘affair’ slur

When self-styled godmen and babas are feeling the heat all over the country, one such baba took up the cudgels to prove his “innocence”. He bobbitised himself when locals alleged that he was having an illicit affair. He was rushed to the hospital and is now under observation.

The shocking incident came to light in Tara Nagar town ward 7, Churu district. “One Santosh Das, 30, inmate of a mutt - Haridas Ashram frequented a house and the locals alleged that he was having a roaring affair with a woman there,” officials said.

On Tuesday when Santosh Das went to the house (again), locals confronted him. “One Pawan Singh alerted others and soon a crowd assembled in front of the house. This shocked the “monk” who left the place in a jiffy. However, on reaching the ashram, he bobbitised himself,” officials said.

His cries alerted other fellow inmates of the ashram who were shocked to find him in a pool of blood. “He was rushed to the local hospital at Churu. He was soon shifted to Bikaner. He is now out of danger. No complaint have been received from any quarters. A police team will be going to Bikaner on Wednesday to record the “monk’s” statements,” officials said.
